meet ZHANNA TISHCHENKO

OWNER AND LEAD DESIGNER AT VIOLETTE FLEURS

Born in Belarus, I moved to the United States at the age of 7 with my family. Since then, I have worked on finding my version of the “American Dream”. My favorite part about the dream is that it can be unique to each individual.

In 2010, I graduated from UC Davis with degrees in Human Development and Russian Studies. I volunteered at hospitals and preschools to see if that was my calling in life. I liked it, but I did not feel on fire for it. Then I met flowers, and the rest is history.

I am in love with running my own business and being there for my children. I guess you could say I am a mompreneur.

Lover of the art of flowers and details. Connecting with people and drawing out their unique style and values is my forte. Since a very young age, I found joy in helping others. I love to have an open, honest relationship with my clients because I believe this is the easiest way to have a stress free wedding.

If you don’t find me flowering around, I’m probably figuring out how to make the next thing out of scratch. I simply love to create! The list is endless, so I won’t go into detail. However, there’s nothing more enticing than a butter croissant straight out of the oven paired with an almond milk cappuccino—just saying! Aside from creating, I love to workout, hike, eat chocolates and blueberries, cuddle with my shepherd, love on my family, travel, and simply enjoy the little things in life.

Believe it or not, floral design was completely foreign to me just a few years ago. I mean, I’m a pretty simple gal—I love tulips, that’s all I would have told you if you asked me to recommend a flower to you. However, while in college I worked at a local grocery store where I was asked to help out in the floral department. At first, I hesitated, but found out how much I loved it from the very start. Shortly after, Zhanna and I decided to make it official. We got our certificates in floral design and dove right into wedding work.

 Today, I am excited to be a part of this creative journey with Zhanna. It is truly a beautiful experience to create luxury floral pieces as well as to grow and empower each other’s strengths with every wedding. What’s more beautiful, is seeing every bride’s vision come to life on her wedding day. Zhanna and I will both tell you, that this is the “why” to our journey. 

 In the beginning we were just dreamers. Today, we are living that dream!
